Every gospel shows Jesus calling disciples to lives of service. Fishermen like Peter and Andrew leave their nets and their fish to follow the Lord. James and John leave their father and their family business. Nathanael leaves his doubts about people like Jesus—“can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Even Matthew the tax collector leaves his ill-gotten gains and follows.

Stewardship season offers us the opportunity to follow in the footsteps in the disciples and put our lives and our labor into Jesus’ hands. This year, we’re inviting you to “cast your nets,” like the first disciples, so that we can see the grace of God abounding through the ministry and mission of First Presbyterian Church.
