Vision

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:18

The Vision of the largest capital campaign in the history of this church is to restore, renovate and re-configure our facilities at 900 Jordan Street and thereby equip ourselves, as a congregation, to worship more meaningfully, to have fellowship more easily, to nurture our own more effectively, to present a more welcoming face to visitors, and to better support our Outreach partners and our own Outreach efforts in the community.  Wrapped up in the Vision is the hope that we will grow as a congregation as others are led to "Come and See" what is happening at First Presbyterian Church.

Scripture tells us that "where there is no vision, the people perish."  This vision the scripture speaks of is ultimately a gift of the Spirit; it is not something we humans can control and call up as an exercise of our will.  Nevertheless, it does require a congregation intent on listening for God's will for it and having the courage to act upon whatever it hears.  Fulfilling the Vision of this capital campaign to renovate, restore and re-configure this facility within which we worship and in which we equip ourselves for ministry is just a small component of the vision granted by the Spirit, without which we perish.  But however small, it is still a part of that vision, and this small part of the vision is in our control.  God grant us the wisdom, will and courage to step out in faith and Fulfill the Vision for First Presbyterian Church.
