Prayer for Bangladesh

A Prayer for Bangladesh

14 May 2012

God of grace, we pray for Mukta, a 26-year-old woman living with her parents in Shakhari Bazar, a poor, congested, Hindu area of Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Although she completed all her high school courses, she could not afford the fees to take the secondary school certificate examination; so she finished high school without a diploma.  Then, with the help of a church-run training program for women, she learned how to sew and obtained her own machine.  Now, while sewing school uniforms on commission, she is attending weekly classes in preparation to sit for the secondary school certificate examination in June.  Lord, grant Mukta the strength and perseverance to obtain the education she desires and to lift herself and her family out of poverty.  We pray in the name of Christ the Savior.  Amen.
