Why Musings?Welcome to Musings! As participants in the conversations on this blog, we covenant together that we will maintain a spirit of good will, of openness to each other, and of mutual respect in our discussions; that we will listen to each other and endeavor to understand each other, especially those whose views differ from ours; and that we will remember that we are brothers and sisters in Christ.
New to Musings? Check out the Blogging Made Easy form to learn how to join the discussion on our blog!
Why Musings? The Musings page will be a place to consider thought-provoking, evocative, sometimes polemical but not overtly political, writings, quotes, ideas, and poetry on the Christian life in all its facets: spiritual, religious, ethical, and practical. We hope it will be a forum for visitors to reflect upon and discuss the postings online. The content will change frequently. Depending on how the early stages go and the level of interest, the Musings page may broaden to include poetry, art, photographs, and other forms of expression by our own church members. We do not intend for this page to open yet another front in the Culture Wars. God knows there are already enough places to enlist in those battles if one is of a mind to do so. We hope the conversations on this blog will build up the body of Christ and not further divide it. The goal will be to listen and learn from each other and not to beat someone else over the head with our own opinions. We will take Jesus’ admonition concerning specks, logs and eyesight to heart and confess that we each suffer from blurry vision, the only question being one of degree. Welcome to Musings!
